A little about me...I am a current senior at a Southern liberal arts college. I was born and raised in Columbus, OH in a house where having fun in the kitchen was the norm and parties were thrown for every holiday. This is where my love of food began.
In high school, I decided to focus more on my passion for food and began baking and teaching others about baking. While interning at Cheryl & Co. Cookies my sophomore year, I realized I could actually make a career out of my passion for food.
I headed to the Big Apple to intern with The Lee Bros. as an editorial assistant to Ted Lee. I must say, that experience was where I was bit by the culinary bug! Since the internship with The Lee Bros., I have worked in test kitchens and in food editorial work at The Columbus Dispatch, Crave Magazine in Columbus, OH and Good Housekeeping Magazine.
After I graduate from college, I plan to go to culinary school and develop my love of cooking into a career path. The Cheerful Cook will be my outlet for all of these big life transitions, while also making FUN food!
